Smoothie season is upon us! Fruit is starting to come into season and everyone is looking for cold, refreshing drinks instead of hot ones. Smoothies also make a great, filling breakfast depending on how much fruit you use. They’re also a great afternoon pick-me-up after work and before dinner. You can pretty much enjoy them any time of day.

I like to use slightly frozen bananas as my base because they create a thickness that no other fruits provide. I also like the sweetness of strawberries and a hint of pineapple. To thin it out a bit, I pour in a tad of orange juice and sometimes I throw a bit of plain yogurt in if I have it. What I’m trying to say here is I never make the same smoothie twice, so this is more of a guideline than anything. You can sub out your favorite fruits, juices, yogurts- try it all!
Also, sorry for the lack of posting – I was just incredibly lazy this past week!
