I have no idea what made me look up turkey burger recipes many months ago because I’m definitely a beef burger kind of girl. I’ve really only heard negatives about turkey burgers- weird texture, bland, not as good as beef. Well, let me tell you these turkey burgers are GOOD. As usual, we cut always cut this recipe in half:
Cajun Turkey Burgers (serves 4)
Ingredients:
1 1.25lb package of ground turkey (85/15)
1 green bell pepper, finely chopped
1 small onion, finely chopped
1 1/2-2 tbs cajun seasoning
12 dashes (or to taste) of hot sauce
4 buns
4 slices pepperjack cheese
tomato
lettuce
avocado
spicy ranch (ratio of 1 tbs of ranch to 3 dashes hot sauce, or to taste)
Preheat grill to medium-high.
Mix together ground turkey, cajun seasoning, hot sauce, green pepper and onion. Shape into burger patties. Grill for 7 minutes per side, checking that no pink remains on the inside. In last few minute, top with cheese and let melt.
Serve on buns with lettuce, tomato and avocado and spicy ranch as a spread.
